Chill...

After a weekend of Vermont, pulling into traffic on I-95 made my shoulders jump into their near-permanent position. Tense and scrunched. In the car, I pledged to myself to keep Vermont with me this week.

Stay laid back. Chill out. Don't sweat it.

Sounds great, doesn't it?

Who's with me?!

Peace, Kristen

Happy Birthday, Pete!

It's no secret...I'm a Pete Seeger fan. And why would I want that kept a secret?

Today would have been his 95th birthday and I think a great way to honor him is to be kind to one another- and sing a song or two with some friends!

Have a great weekend, and sing a song, Kristen

Here's a song you may enjoy, celebrating this amazing folk legend- I put the lyrics below the video so you can sing along. :)

Vermont, jogging and Grace Potter

I'm up in Vermont for the weekend with a bunch of shows. Tonight I don't play until 9 at Radio Bean, so I had time today to get some work done and go for a jog. I love jogging in new towns because it gives me a chance to stop and see things that I'd blow past if I were driving.

And though I'm very agains running with my phone, today I brought it along because I wanted to make sure that I could take a picture if I saw a moose!

It was a moose-less jog, but it was amazing, so I'm glad I broke my rule and had my phone along.

After I was done, and the rain had stopped, I hung out in the park to record a video of me singing a Grace Potter song. I hope you enjoy!

Have a great weekend, Kristen

The beautiful running/biking path.

He's no moose, but it was still cool to bump into turtle man!

Hope you enjoy the song!

Six years ago...

Six years ago I flew to Oaxaca, Mexico for one hour. It was an exciting day, Gaby was coming to the U.S.

I didn't sleep on the plane (in either direction) because I was nervous of all of the things that could still go wrong.

But we made it.

We landed in JFK to a very excited Bryan, and we rushed home so that we could all celebrate.

We celebrated with pizza.

Since then... (In no particular order)

Gaby has come on tour with me.

Bryan and I got married. (Gaby was there.)

Gaby has learned the crazy ways of this country.

Gaby mastered English.

Gaby graduated from Norwalk Community College. (I stood on a chair and yelled.)

We got Chip.

We started working on the Cheyenne River Reservation...all of us. Together.

We moved.

Gaby started business school at Sacred Heart.

And last, but not least, for yet another summer- Gaby will dedicate her entire vacation to serving our friends on the CRST Reservation as everyone's favorite chef.

Our family is our family. It would not be complete if we weren't all together.

Happy six years!
